About Marathon Ministry

Marathon Ministry is a fully qualified 501-c-3 nonprofit, faith-based organization providing food, clothing, medical needs, and spiritual guidance to needy families in the Appalachian coalfields and abroad. Driven by the vision given to him by the Lord Jesus Christ, founder Reverend Philip Cooper directs the ministry based on Scriptural principles. The ministry is totally funded by donors moved to care for the poor.

Since 1986, Marathon has given freely over 25 million pounds of necessary items, including food to tens of thousands of needy families. In Matthew 10:8, Jesus said "Freely ye have received, freely give." In agreement with the Lord's words, Marathon has freely given in times of need such as natural disasters, famines, economic hardships, and international affairs.

With the compassion and the love of God in our hearts, the staff of Marathon Ministry continues to fight the good fight of faith and bless God's people as He provides.
